Premium Feed Instructions

Scroll to the bottom of this page to find a complete list of all of our premium feeds.

⚠️ Important

Please be careful to COPY the link we sent you and not CLICK it. That's the most common mistake people make when trying to subscribe to premium feeds.

Different podcast apps use different methods for subscribing to a premium (paid) subscription podcast. Watch this short video to see how it works.

iOS Apps

Apple Podcasts (iOS)

  1. Copy the URL you received when you signed up.
  2. Open the Podcasts app and go to LIBRARY.
  3. Tap EDIT (three dots, top right corner).
  4. Select Follow a show by URL.
  5. Paste the URL and enter your username and password.

Overcast (iOS)

Works with the feed format:

http://[username]:[password]@[feed]

Downcast (iOS)

  1. Open Downcast and press Add on the bottom bar.
  2. Press Add Podcast Manually.
  3. Paste the feed URL from your email.
  4. Enter your username and password.
  5. Hit Subscribe (top right).

Pocket Casts (iOS) ⚠️

Doesn't fully support premium feeds any more. You can try the http://[username]:[password]@[feed] format but it often won't work.

🚫 Not Supported on iOS

Breaker and Spotify do not support external premium feeds.

Android Apps

The following apps should work using the https://[username]:[password]@[feed] format:

Podcast Addict ⭐ Recommended

Our listeners have the most success with this one.

  1. Tap the + button and select RSS feed.
  2. Enter the podcast RSS feed URL.
  3. Check the Authentication checkbox and enter your login/password.
  4. Hit validate — the app will update the podcast.

Tip: if you have trouble, try leaving out the "http" part of the feed URL.

Podcast Republic

  1. Subscribe to the podcast first.
  2. Open the podcast settings via the menu on the title bar.
  3. Go to Authentication → select HTTPS authentication.
  4. Enter your username and password.

Apple Podcasts (Mac)

  1. Open the Podcasts app.
  2. Click the FILE menu → Follow a Show by URL…
  3. Paste your feed URL and click OK.

Apple Podcasts (Windows)

  1. Open the Podcasts app.
  2. Click FILE or ADVANCED from the top menu.
  3. Select Subscribe To Podcast.
  4. Paste your feed URL and click OK.

Troubleshooting

My feed has stopped working

Some apps are buggy and feeds can mysteriously stop working. The usual fix:

  1. Delete the feed from your app.
  2. Add it back again.

If that doesn't work, email Cam and he'll help you sort it out.

"Feed not recognised"

Try these fixes:

  1. Use http instead of https at the start of the URL.
  2. If there's a trailing slash at the end of the feed URL, remove it and try again.

If neither works, email Cam and he'll do his best to help.
