From Cameron
Howdy, TPN fanboys, fangirls and fannonbinaries. I hope you’ve been enjoying looking up at the stars at night and are all sticking to your New Year’s Resolution of a daily reading from Marcus Aurelius.
In my little world, Fox turned 12 today (as David Lynch would say CAN YOUUUUU BELIEVE IT?) – Chrissy was six months pregnant with him when Ray and I started the Caesar show!
While he and his friends were having a Minecraft party today, Chrissy and I watched WAITING FOR GUFFMAN, Christopher Guest’s first ‘mockumentary’ from 1996. Can’t believe I’ve never seen it before! I’ve seen (and loved) his other films. This one holds up very well. Always fun to see Catherine O’Hara, Parker Posey, Eugene Levy and Fred Willard strut their stuff, and it had small cameos from David Cross and Bob Odenkirk.
Music-wise I’ve been listening to SPARKS most of the day because they are coming back to Brisbane in a couple of weeks and we have tickets. We (and I’m including Fox) saw them a few years ago on their last visit and it was fabulous.
Here’s a wallpaper I made with Gemini today.
My Thought For The Day
“Because of Danny’s book Setting the Table, many of these concepts and catchphrases have made it into the culture at large. My favorite was “Make the charitable assumption,” a reminder to assume the best of people, even when (or perhaps especially when) they weren’t behaving particularly well. So, instead of immediately expressing disappointment with an employee who has shown up late and launching into a lecture on how they’ve let down the team, ask first, “You’re late; is everything okay?”

Life of Caesar · Published 7 May 2026 YHWH v JOVE – Vespasian #19On this episode, Cameron and Ray wrap up the fall of Jerusalem in September 70 CE — Titus strolls into the ruins, declares Yahweh helped him destroy Yahweh’s own temple, and the boys go deep on the genuinely wild linguistic coincidence that the Roman sky-god Jove and the Hebrew God share the same name. Then it’s grim accounting time: survivors get sorted into gladiators, mine slaves, and beast-fodder, Josephus rescues some mates, and rebel leader Simon Bar-Gioras emerges from a… |

Cold War · Published 7 May 2026 The Land They Were Never Meant To Own – Cold War 308 (Cuban Revolution #33)On this episode we dig into the centrepiece of Cuba’s revolution — the Agrarian Reform Act of 1959. We break down exactly what the law said, why even the Cuban Communist Party thought Castro was moving too fast, and how ordinary Cubans from all walks of life started pooling their own money to make it happen. And we set up the moment one wealthy, well-connected American walked into Eisenhower’s office and arguably shaped US-Cuba policy for the next 75 years. |

Renaissance · Published 30 April 2026 Burn the Lepers – The Renaissance #237We are taking a break from Michelangelo to talk about lepers, Jews and… WITCHES! Today we start with the 1321 leper panic in France, where thousands of people were burned alive or locked up for life based on tortured confessions of a supposed plot to poison the water supply and take over the world. Along the way we get hot and heavy with the French royal family — adultery, assassinations, a king who reigned for four days, and a woman… |

The Bullshit Filter · Published 1 March 2026 Sharks with Laser Beams – BS Filter 144In this episode of *The Bullshit Filter*, Cameron and Ray dissect a world seemingly gone mad under the pressure of the Trump administration’s “maximum pressure” foreign policy. The duo explores the unfolding humanitarian disaster in Cuba, where a modern fuel blockade has pushed the island’s socialist experiment to the brink of collapse and triggered a “mini Bay of Pigs” skirmish. Beyond the Caribbean, they analyze the “Board of Peace”—a privatized, multibillion-dollar alternative to the UN Security Council run by Trump… |

QAV Australia · Published 6 May 2026 Five Juicy Years: Gold, Oil, and the Art of Saying No – QAV AU #918On this episode, Cam and Tony work through a busy news week — the ASX’s longest losing streak since 2018, oil prices going nuts, the UAE ditching OPEC, and Greg Abel’s first real run at the Berkshire AGM without Warren holding the mic. Tony does a Pulled Pork on Kaiser Reef (KAU), a small Aussie gold miner that went from explorer to profitable producer after snapping up the Henty Gold Mine in Tasmania — worth a look but it’s a… |

QAV America · Published 7 May 2026 THE HAUSBANK THAT CAME IN FROM THE COLD (DB) – QAV America #51This week we run through a stack of Pulled Pork results that are absolutely cooking — Pitney Bowes up 40%, Eastman Kodak up 81%, and the US dummy portfolio now sitting at 110% since inception versus the S&P’s 62%. Then Cam does a deep dive on Deutsche Bank — 156 years old, scandal-ridden, and somehow posting their best year ever. Plus Spirit Airlines collapses, the Iran War drags into its ninth week, and Ford beats estimates by three times but… |
